'ORKNEY IN THE 12TH CENTURY: EARL ROGNAVALD AND HIS EARLDOM' EXHIBITION
This exhibition gives a taste of what Orkney was like during the Viking occupation. It draws upon the archaeology of the islands along with detailed history and its legacy of literature. Held in the Orkney Museum at Tankerness. Admission free.

NORWEGIAN CONSTITUTION DAY PARADE
A celebration of Norway's Constitution Day. People will parade with flags from Kirkwall Pier at 2.30pm, along with piping, singing, dancing and other events.

The Orkney Folk Festival celebrates modern and traditional folk music of Orkney, with international artists as well as Orkney musicians. Held in Stromness with events also staged in the rural areas and smaller islands.
