'ORKNEY IN THE 12TH CENTURY: EARL ROGNAVALD AND HIS EARLDOM' EXHIBITION
This exhibition gives a taste of what Orkney was like during the Viking occupation. It draws upon the archaeology of the islands along with detailed history and its legacy of literature. Held in the Orkney Museum at Tankerness. Admission free.

A weekend of traditional Orkney of dance events with workshops including: Scottish Country Dancing, Old Time Dancing, Ballroom Dancing, Orcadian Lancers and Quadrilles, Shetland Lancers and Quadrilles, Hebridean Dancing and Shetland Folk Dancing.

A weekend of traditional jazz to be held at the Stromness Hotel including the annual Jazz Festival Service of Praise at Magnus Church on Birsay which is led by a Ragtime Band.
